Need-Based Grants
HSC offers need-based grants to undergraduate students with a demonstrated financial need. These grants are funded by HSC and awarded to students based on family income information provided in the Financial Aid PROFILE through the College Board’s College Scholarship Service (CSS). Using the U.S. Department of Education’s methodology for establishing a family’s expected contribution, the Office of Financial Aid will award available grant funds on a first-come, first-served basis.
Steps in making application for need-based financial assistance for the 2012-2013 school year:
Submit the Financial Aid PROFILE through CSS at https://profileonline.collegeboard.com/prf/index.jsp. The school code for HSC is 5854.
Submit copies of your parents and your 2011 federal tax return with all attachments and W-2 forms to our office as soon as they are complete. These can be mailed to:
Holy Spirit College
Financial Aid Office
4465 Northside Drive NW
Atlanta, GA 30327
After the student has completed the CSS PROFILE and been offered admission to the College, the Office of Financial Aid will send an award letter. The award letter will include all financial aid available to the student to date (including scholarships). In order for those funds to be disbursed to the student's account, the student must sign the award letter and return the letter to the Office of Financial Aid. Financial Aid offers are open for acceptance for 21 days from the date of the offer and can only be accepted if the student has also accepted the offer of admission.
All students that accept need-based financial aid are required to participate in the Institutional Employment program, which will be noted on the award letter.
Equity is ensured by having consistent policies. Holy Spirit College provides financial assistance to students of any race, color, religion, national and ethnic origin.
Holy Spirit College may in the future seek approval for Federal and State programs that will allow for financial assistance in the forms of student loans, parent loans, Federal grants, and the HOPE scholarship (GA).
All students who wish to be considered for a need-based grant must submit an Application for Financial Aid. This application requests family income information. Using the U.S. Department of Education’s methodology for establishing a family’s expected contribution, the Office of Financial Aid will award available grant funds on a first-come, first-served basis.
All students that are offered need-based financial aid are required to participate in uncompensated student-work activities for 50 hours per semester.
After the student has completed the financial aid application
and been offered admission to the College, the Office of
Financial Aid will send an award letter. The award letter will
