Dr. Arthur, a product of Catholic education, attended Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Joseph's Academy in St. Louis, Missouri. She earned her Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a major in finance from the University of Georgia and a Master's degree in Education with a concentration in secondary math from the University of South Carolina. She attended Georgia State University during 1997-1998 to complete her certification in Educational Leadership and Administration. Dr. Arthur will be hooded in December, 2011 signifying her completion of her Doctorate in Philosophy from the Department of Educational Policy Studies at Georgia State University. Dr. Arthur has attended the International Centre for Education Sciences in Rome, Italy offering studies in Catholic Doctrine, Anthropology, and Moral Theology. Jamie Arthur’s experience began with classroom teaching at both the middle and high school levels for twelve years, nine of which were at Christ the King School in Atlanta. Administrative experience includes Middle School Department Chair, faculty representative for the annual fund, strategic planning, admissions, and being a liaison to the principal. Dr. Arthur joined Holy Spirit Preparatory School in its founding year, 1996, and functioned as the school's Director of Development, Marketing, and Admissions. From 2000-2006, Dr. Arthur served in various administrative capacities including Principal of the Lower School during the years 2003-2006. She currently serves as Vice President of Institutional Administration for HSPS and Dean of the Education Department for Holy Spirit College. In addition to her administrative role at Holy Spirit Preparatory School, Dr. Arthur serves as Head of The Solidarity School and as an accreditation chair for the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). She has been recognized by and is a member of both Phi Lambda Theta, an international honor society and professional association of educators, Golden Key, an honor society recognizing outstanding academic achievement, and Phi Delta Kappa, a professional organization for educators. Her experience and expertise in education translates to Jamie Arthur’s philanthropic work with at-risk children. Dr. Arthur co-founded the SeeWee Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides funding for at-risk children detained in the SC Department of Juvenile Justice. In relation to her foundation, Dr. Arthur was inducted onto the Board of Trustees for Outreach of Outward Bound in September, 2004. Dr. Arthur also serves on the Advisory Board for Moda Real, a non-profit organization working with young Hispanic women. Jamie Arthur graduated from Leadership Sandy Springs Class in 2010 where she was part of the project team that created Youth Leadership Sandy Springs and is currently Vice-Chair of the Advisory Board. Dr. Arthur is a member of Holy Spirit Parish where she has served as a Mass coordinator, Eucharistic minister, member of the choir, parish council, and is currently a Lady Commander in the Order of the Holy Sepulcher.
