Library Access
Students at Holy Spirit College have full access to the library at Holy Spirit College adjacent to the college lecture theaters as well as the library of Holy Spirit Prep. The library at Holy Spirit College supports the curriculum and in particular, the Great Books program, by providing translations of works studied in the curriculum and supplies works by other authors in the areas of literature, philosophy, and theology. The library offers readings in history, the social sciences, mathematics, and the physical sciences. Inter-library privileges and electronic resources include access to thousands of electronic books, periodicals, subscriptions, and databases. The library also provides a quiet place to study as well as materials to relax the students' minds, including fiction, periodicals, and music recordings.
The selection of materials in the library is the particular responsibility of the professionally trained librarian with the approval of the President and/or Provost of Holy Spirit College. The selection procedure is cooperative. Administrators, faculty, and students recommend materials. The librarian is constantly seeking current materials to fill shortages of information revealed when classes and individuals use the library.
