"Catholic universities are essential to the growth of the whole Church and to the development of Christian culture and human progress."
- Pope John Paul II
A Community of Academics and Faith
The life of the campus outside the classroom is crucial in achieving the mission of HSC. The College understands its educational mission as a Catholic College to be directed to the whole person, not solely to the intellect. It seeks to foster the students' moral, as well as their intellectual, virtues and aims to educate its students so that they may achieve excellence of mind and heart, develop a mature understanding of their faith, and become leaders able to act responsibly for the good of their communities. These practical aims rest on an understanding that acknowledges "transcendent standards of truth" and affirms "human nature to be spiritual, rational, and free."
Holy Spirit believes strongly in the dignity and worth of the individual and will create an atmosphere conducive for a healthy mind, body, and soul. The college experience should be challenging, rewarding, educational, and fun. Student life will encourage activities that uplift the individual while glorifying God and all creation.
