Undergraduate Admissions
Admissions decisions are made on a "rolling admissions" basis. Once a student completes an application for admission and submits all required application materials, the admissions staff evaluates the application. Admissions notification letters are sent out as soon as the decision is made. Financial Aid awards are made when an admissions offer is made or an applicant's financial aid application is complete whichever is later.
Students are encouraged to complete their applications for admissions and financial aid as early as possible to maximize their opportunities for receiving financial aid awards. Early application is encouraged.

Recommended Standards for Admissions
HSC considers several factors in admissions decisions. No single factor eliminates consideration or guarantees admission. In general, applicants are considered for regular admission based on the following:
-
High school grade point averages of 3.25 or above (4.0 scale)
-
SAT or ACT scores
-
Recommendation letters from high school counselors and/or teachers
-
Student's self-statement (a reflection of motivation and commitment)
Transfer Students
Holy Spirit College will consider students who have previously taken twenty four or more college level credits for admission as transfer students based upon their academic achievement in those courses. If less than twenty-four hours of college credit has been earned, high school achievement will additionally be considered along with the other criteria for admissions listed under the standards admissions process. Holy Spirit College accepts transfer credit from other accredited institutions only after completing a course-by-course evaluation and provided that a grade of "C" or better has been earned.
AP & CLEP Credit
Holy Spirit College accepts student scores from both the Advanced Placement (AP) and the College Level Examination Placement (CLEP) examinations for credit toward a student's undergraduate graduation requirements. A maximum of four courses will be accepted for exemption. At the discretion of the Provost, courses in excess of the four permitted for credit may allow a student to exempt a core course and select an elective or non-core course required for the student's major.
Advanced Placement Policy (AP) - a minimum score of three is accepted in all subject areas except U.S. Government & Politics which requires a minimum score of four. Advanced Placement credit will not be accepted for Western Civilization. Please e-mail the College Registrar: registrar@holyspiritcollege.org for confirmation as to which AP examinations are accepted in substitution for a Holy Spirit College course.
College Level Examination Placement - a minimum score of 50 is accepted. Please e-mail the College Registrar: registrar@holyspiritcollege.org for confirmation as to which CLEP examinations are accepted in substitution for a Holy Spirit College course.
Students planning to complete their degree at Ave Maria University should request that the Registrar of Holy Spirit College verify prevailing policies at that institution.
